For most of the last 30 years, we have been a Microsoft Shop. A huge part of the business world runs on PCs and we concentrate on creating applications that help your business. However, over the past several years, we have come to the realization that Microsoft does not dominate certain areas of technologies. WordPress has emerged as one of the most popular platforms for 60 percent of the websites out there today. WordPress is based on .PHP and uses a MySql database as apposed to Microsoft's .Net platform and SQL Server database. For more complicated sites that require more robust programming or websites that share data with SQL Server databases for desktop applications, we stick with Microsoft.
Similarly, Microsoft Windows Phones have a small share of the mobile app market. Android is the biggest in the world and is used in the most devices. After Android, iPhones are the most popular, especially in the United States.
However, whether it is .PHP or JAVA for the Android or Objective C for the iPhone or C# for the Windows Phone, they are all derivations of the C programming language which has been around forever in the programming world.
